New D3 Colour - Java Chrome

Just discovered a new paint shade hiding behind the original Java
It's "Java Chrome"

Decided to give my D3 the once a year good kleening.
It was to get rid of the Kielder & Lakes scratches, mud etc and general winter gunge that accumulates over the months.
And hey, I found this new colour lurking underneath.

Here's how I did it [only for those that are interested though].

Washed the D3 using the 2 x bucket method & Auto Glym shampoo with sheepskin mitt.
Dried off with microfibre towel.
Applied DoDo Juice lube and rubbed over with DoDo Juice claybar.
Applied a coat of Poorboys Black Hole, then buffed that up.
Applied a coat of Natty's Paste Wax, then buffed that up.
Cleaned wheels with Auto Glym wheel spray.
Cleaned tyres and wheels with Auto Glym tyre dressing.

and got this:

But, it's not finished yet.
Cleaned out the interior last weekend - in every nook n cranny.
It wasn't really dirty but it took me around 5 hours.
Even used my wifes toothbrush to get to all the small stuff. Mr. Green

All is not finished yet though!
Still to do:
Windows - inside & out.
Condition leather interior.
All exterior plastic trim.
Engine bay.
Alloy tubes & exhaust trims.
Underbody.
Hope to complete over the next two weekends
All in time to get it muddy again for it's next outing at Tong on the 28th
Mr. Green

Not bad for a four and half year old vehicle with 127k on the clock. Rolling Eyes

couple of tips:
Use some old claybar to remove dead fly residue from glass/paintwork.
Use Auto Glym tyre dressing to polish your alloys after using on the tyres.

Cleaning products bought from JKP.
Excellent quality and superb stuff to work with.
Oh, and excellent service also chucked in from John Bow down

Great job that Ron. Was it a hand job Whistle or machine polish? Excellent results though. I'd probably add a layer of sealant on the body and wheels to add some longevity to all that hard work.
 Badda bing.......How you doin'?

Java black SE, standard spec. Clean and shiny.

Hand job as usual Rolling Eyes

The Natty's Paste Wax is the sealant.

I meant a layer of sealant prior to the Natty's. There is a difference between the two but the combination you have used there looks the dogs danglies. Using Blachole myself under Jetseal 109 and Collinite 915.

Looking good Ron Thumbs Up

Goodfella, you dont really need the 109 if you use Colly Thumbs Up 109 would be okay if you top with P21S or similar short durability wax. Colly is pretty industrious at what it does. Good protection but not a lot of look about it.

SWMBO thought I was crazy spending 4 hours apiece on both our cars and they are no-where as big as the D3.
Fantastic job and all by hand Shocked I take it JKP has tried to impress on you the use of a polish buffing machine Exclamation

so once completed what would be the total effort time Question
