Hopefully I should be there. The word is, don't take your car, it will be completely rammed with traffic. Best way will be to get the train to Windermere from Oxenholme. Its about a mile walk from there down to Bowness.

Why not go to Newby Bridge and up the West side of the lake towards Sawrey, or from the noth (Hawkshead down the same side. You should end up opposire Bo'ness without the crowds.... If I remember correctly or things haven't changed...... FORECAST FOR TONIGHT: things have happened out there!!!

Yes, thought about that. Very narrow roads but still a possibility.
ISTR there were several places along there to park up but I guess a lot of the locals will be ensconced early being in the know as they are.... FORECAST FOR TONIGHT: things have happened out there!!!

If you are coming from the South so to speak go into Bowness via the 'Crook' road when you have just passed Kendal at the large Roundabout instead of the normal 'Tourist' route. This is a much quieter road into Bowness.
I understand this year there will extra parking but if not just find a residential area around bowness / windermere and park there.SOLD - 23my Range Rover Sport D300 Dynamic SE

Many a happy time (most of my childhood) watching the airshow from the deck of my parents boat on Windermere when i was a kid
Remember watching the Red Arrows and the a huge DC10 (i think it was that) fly over lower than any aircraft with its back doors open and seeing one of the load crew laying there peering down at us
8)
then they sold it and got a tintent instead

Also flying to East Fortune in Edinburgh on Saturday. Its doing a bit of a tour, I presume it will be leaving Brize Norton to fly to Sunderland, doing a show, flying on to Edinburgh to do another, then down to Windermere, and back to Brize.
Quite a few folks should see it on the way, as it has to stay within visual flight rules, so will be at low level the whole journey.
I'm not sure if it has any planned stops on the way.
