Took my D3 into them this morning for it's 'snagging list' including a squeaking EPB, sticking tailgate and 'clonk' on slow full lock...and to buy towing electrics.
All fixed with EPB Deglazed and adjusted. Loaner provided and although it was a Mazda it was new and clean. Discount given on towing electrics. Very efficient service throughout so a big
Shame the used stock appeared to be thin on the ground but couldn't fault the service.....

I asked them to run a diagnostic check on my D3 a few weeks ago after I called LRA out over the EGR valves. They wanted to charge me £53.00 to do the check, couldnt promise to do it while I waited and wanted to charge me for a loan car.
I called Stratstone Milton Keynes who agreed to take the car the next morning while I waited. Litterally 5 mins after I arrived I was on my way home again. As a result I wouldnt go back to Pilling no matter how convienient they are.

Glad to hear everything went ok for jojim in my absence
Not so glad to hear that Rich71 has recently had a bad experience, I shall investigate further to understand why there was a delay stated and come back if the concerned PM's or emails me with some details of date and time. ...or alternatively get your Genuine bits here!

I'm not that bothered to be honest but I cant see why you should charge over £50 for a 5 min job that can be done by another dealer for nothing. I only came in because I work in Hatfield so your convenient. Its how you've done things for a few years now so thats the way its going to stay I suppose. Dont get me wrong the guy behind the desk was helpfull enough ( Richard I think). The last vehicle I took in for work was a D90 I had no problem then.
I've never had a problem with the parts department though, always helpfull and quick to deliver.

To be fair to Pilling Land Rover, if you are bothered enough to put the comments on here in the first place, the least you can do is allow them the opportunity to respond I believe that every human has a finite number of heart-beats. I don't intend to waste any of mine running around doing exercises.

I think the word 'communication' was where we may have failed with your issue rich71, it would be easy for me to point fingers at individuals here but would suggest that it may be that the term 'quick look' was not absorbed particularly well.
Where we get someone with an issue that needs a 'quick look' it would not be charged for, unfortunately as with a lot of modern engines along with DISCO 3 everything is now covered with plastic and there is generally very little on view which leads on occasion to the perception from the relevent service advisor that further investigation would be required at an investigative charge of some kind...
My personal thought is bring back points and condensors!!!
Should you have any further things that you wish to be had a 'quick look' at please save yourself a journey, let me know and I shall make sure the 'look' is indeed 'quick' and uncharged! ...or alternatively get your Genuine bits here!

Ooh, if you're fixing squeaky EPBs in a sensible fashion then my mum (rather nearer you than me...) may be getting her PC fixed sooner than she thought! Local dealer (Hartwell in Cumnor) says that squeaky EPB is not a warranty issue, it's routine maintenance. I'm sorry, at 18 months and 24k miles, £130 quid (no doubt plus VAT) to adjust the handbrake is taking the p . I'm sorry, but IMHO that's a design fault

Mr Pilling Minion has responded. Perhaps this didnt need to be as public as it is though but thats the whole point of feedback threads isnt it?
