Allisport Intercooler & blanked EGR's - what to expect |
|
Just bought the Allisport Intercooler of Discocuzzy.
[Thanks Steve ]
Having it fitted on Wed next week - providing i can prise it from Bodsy [who D3 couriered it ]
Just thoughts on what I can expect from it, plus also having the EGR's blanked off.
MPG used to be around 27/28mpg, now it's around 24/25mpg.
[but that might be down to the bigger diameter tyres i'm running?]
It's got a Stage 1 engine tune from JE and its got a K&N filter.
But somehow, I don't feel as if I'm getting 'bang for my buck'
So what you reckon? I was a normal heterosexual chap, but in these new woke awakenings I now identify as a Wardrobe.

Ron,
My TD5 was fitted with a Dastek remap and the allisport cooler....on test it went from 138BHP - 170BHP with the remap, and on to 197BHP with the cooler and K&N....
My D3 has turbochip and K&N but no cooler, though its crossed my mind as my experience previously has been good.
Regards,
Nick D4 HSE....Probably, but not quite decided yet.

I think you will be pleasantly surprised. I have a standard tune at the moment (dont ask) with the Allisport intercooler fitted. I have had a loaner 09my RRS TDV6 as the Defender was in having diff issues again.
Anyway the standard Red Pearl with the Allisport Cooler on and loads of 4x4 kit was faster/nicer to drive than a new only got 300 miles on the clock RRS. In the Beginning there was nothing, which exploded.

The Allisport Intercooler made a world of difference to my 300Tdi, so fitted to a D3 with a remap is sure to be impressive...... 8)
I would fit an ITG air filter rather than a K&N. ------------------------------

A bigger cooler did help the basic early engines, however with modern engines the improvement is not as noticeable. In the Beginning there was nothing, which exploded.
