Goodbye my friends
Time to say goodbye - I have sold my HSE and bought a new Defer 110 crew cab pickup. Hopefully pick this up next week. Not quite the D3 but I decided to go for a manual for towing and hope to do some camping trips as well.
I have really enjoyed the site and always checked it daily. I guess my claim to contribution was to start the thread on "keeping the suspension up" which has had the odd hit since! I hope that this gets sorted and think that it is frustrating that Lrover won't sort this problem out - particularly when they do things like run a bunch of cars around the top end for journos, but don't pick up on what is for our country a necessary problem to look at. Very frustrating!!!
Thanks to all for your help and contribution to what is a valuable site for D3 owners.
P.S. One of the best tips I got from the site was the "seatbelt in and out" trick to p off the annoying ding whilst unbuckled!
Wish you all well!

Within a couple of weeks I expect my latest electronic prototype will be ready to test. Its set to provide on-the-fly switch-selectable 1" and 2" lifts.
Maybe there will be a solution in time that will get you back into a Disco but hope the Defer does well in the meantime.

Thanks Grahame;
SWMBO is not particularly impressed with this decision - to drive the Defer she thinks I need a pony tail and some JC sandles!!
My D3 has been the best vehicle I have owned and that is from about 30 vehicles (or more).2006 HSE TDV6 Bonatti Grey, ECB bull bar, tropical roof, LG Next G car kit, Tom Tom GPS, UHF, Mitchell Bros tow bar, Kimberley Kamper Limited Edition camper trailer and 23 foot Haines Signature half cabin (Towed separately!)

I'll miss seeing your D3 cruising past. Another Defender in town is always welcome though.
Sandals are on sale at Rivers in Church Street at the moment. As for a pony tail.......

Me too!
My 1st attempt was based on the height sensors being simple potentiometers whereby I expected to be able to sway the voltage higher or lower as required. However as they are variable voltage supplies that therefore cannot be "swayed" (whether they have been all the time or LR changed their design doesn't matter now), the analogue voltage has to be intercepted, converted to digital, modified up or down depending on which sensor/wheel then converted back to analgue for the ecu, X 4. I need to demonstrate that the ecu treats my pseudo-analogue (pwm) voltage signal exactly the same as a pure analogue signal and therefore gives the same ride height. I may have to change to higher spec microprocessors that have improved pwm support if the ones that are about to arrive in the mail don't generate a sufficiently-continuous output signal whilst changing voltages. The higher-spec ICs take more PCB space and cost twice as much, not that their cost is any impediment.
Here's hoping it all works.
