Mods....move to D4 if this is wrong place
Called at a small 'northern' Stratstone dealership yesterday because I had an hour to kill between meetings and fancied a look/some details on the D4 so I was all dressed up with polished shoes and wearing a tie!
After about 10 mins of browsing salesman asked if I was interested in anything. 'Yes....just wondered if you had any info on the new D4, prices, specs etc since I was thinking I may trade in my 08 D3 while prices are still holding' (OK I'm not but he did ask!)
Sorry Sir, don't have any details or prices yet apart from this large A3 folder, still awaiting finalisation and release from LR.....then he suggested I may like to leave a deposit against a D$ since they may have spare stock!
Looks like the recession has ended at Stratwhatsits!!
Guess where I'm not going again Club RLD spare wheel protection
Club RLD skid plate
Club its all black
Club D3 - it's gone
Club D4 - just arrived and still all black

You should count yourself lucky that they did not bend you over, tear you a new one, abuse it and ask you to pay for the favour....

I,ve got to share this one with you all ! I dropped my 06 HSE in this morning at Stratstone Newcastle (with an appointment), the passenger seats electrics were not working and it was stuck. I mentioned whilst signing it in that I was driving down to Cornwall on Friday for a break with the family and so would need it Thursday latest. Later in the day i received a call from Startstone saying the servo on the brakes was leaking and the ball jionts needed replacing, and more. I was surprised that they had taken the time to check all this as it was in just to fix the seat. The kind chap from Stratstone then reminded me that driving all the way from Gateshead to Cornwall with my wife and kids in the car it was essential to have this sorted, who wouldn't agree. However when I contacted Land Rover Warranty they told me that an claim assesor was going to check the claim on Friday, but i'm going to Cornwall on friday as i've prepaid a cottage for a week. Stratstone forgot to mention this ? The chap from LR warranty was understanding of my problem and has offered to hire a courtesey vehicle for me to use for the week. However well this sounds its not going to be easy finding a like for like car that can carry my 3 kids, my wife, me and 4 bikes. I ended up buying my car from Farnells - 150 miles away because Stratstones sales team at Newcastle were trying to sell me anything but what i wanted - now i suspect the service team are trying to fit parts that are not needed - but hey it's okay they are under warranty - and they expect me to cut my holdays short for their greed.
