Anybody had any dealings with Farnells, thinking of buying a D3 from them. Any info would be appreciated. MY17 D5 1st Edition Namib Orange

If this if guiseley which used to be Farnell Leeds before they bought another dealership out... i thought they were great when i bought a defender from them in 2007 picked me up from hotel i was staying did a great price ..phoned me up two weeks later to ask me how things were going..basically full marks..

Nearly bought one from Guiseley last year and had great service and sales folk willing to do a deal with a smile (just bought a slight higher spec elsewhere). Go there for servicing and warranty and always get great service and advice so can recommend.
If you do buy there don't forget to join the Coop before you do to get the end of year profit share dividend Club RLD spare wheel protection

Got my D3 from them last November, It's a 3 year old one, but was the cheapest one around and the backup and service department are just great. Got a years extra warranty thrown in and have needed it too! A+ from me. 90 Defender(Daughter driving at the mo)

Used to use them when they were Guy Salmon (assuming you mean Farnells in Leeds City center), but since the change over, have been using Guy Salmon @ Wakefield.
Main reason was that Farnells didn't purchase the database details from GS and so didn't have the work details of what had previously been done to our D3 (e.g. water leaks, EGR valves etc)
I believe they are the same techs there, and when we did use them, they were very good. Prices seems to of gone up since Farnells took over though.

I dealt with Guy Salmon Leeds just before they was taken over by Farnells, as said no database details so they couldn't help with what they had done to my car 5 days earlier, but had the same service manager who i had spent 50 minutes arguing with before.
Whilst there i also got a quote to change cars and the same sales person works there still
So it looks to me same staff, different name above the door

Echo all the above, Farnells are very good and as mentioned if you buy a car from them you get the value as points added to the COOP card which gives you a very nice dividend payout 12 months down the line  2020 BMW X1 18d XDrive X-Line Auto
