Coming back from the dark side |
|
What a tale of redemption (maybe) this is.
I confess that I was a Disco3 owner until Jan 08 when I took delivery on my TDV6 RSS with everything on it, and I mean everything including the fridge. Yes I admit it I was seduced by the footballer bling of the RSS.
But even as I drove out of the Land Rover dealer that day I felt sad to leave my “Truck†behind.
And since that day I have regretted switching from a Disco. Also I sold my Disco at 100km thinking I would still be doing 40k per year but no I moved state and only done 20k in a 18months! Wished I just kept the Disco.
But then the Disco4 came, my opportunity to move back to the light and enjoy driving a truck again and put the life of footballer bling behind me.
Using some advanced Enron style accounting I manage to convince the wife that we could change without breaking the bank, and that now with 2 kids we really need the space as the RSS is such a small car.
So I am almost about to sign on the paperwork for a 3L TDV6 HSE sliver with ebony interior with keyless entry, top stereo, and maybe premium leather.
So everyone should I switch back to the world of seven seats and unlimited boot space and ditch the bling.
Also is premium leather worth it and would it last 4 years of kids.

Good man!
Do you get the electric seats on the HSE without premium leather? If you do, then I would be inclined to say don't go for premium.

The standard leather on the D4's that I have actually seen, IMO looks nicer (more substantial & suitable for a Land Rover) than the rather "poncy" Premium Leather.

Sounds like a man after my own heart, I too use this type of accounting to justify new bus! I would class mine as EU accounting though rather than Enron, at least Enron got their accounts signed! Honestly Marge, I wouldn't have done it if I thought you would find out!

Guys,
Thanks very much for all the feedback, it looks like this Scot living in Brisbane (BrisVegas) is going to give up the life of bling and come back to a Disco, the truck.
Also I think I will swap the posh leather for fancy camera system.
One question I do have is, what is mood lighting? Is this a throw back to the night clubs of the 80's?
