Need some advice!!
Having problems engaging the interest of my chosen Landrover dealer (Stratstone, High Wycombe). Not interested in letting me test drive, doesn't return calls etc.
Anyone else know a dealer in the area who may be more interested in £40k of my money?
Cheers

I had exactly the same experience at Stratstones - that's the one at Wooburn Green, right. I got fed up with chasing the dealer.
They let me test drive though!
In the end, I thought if they don't want my money, someone else will.
I kept hearing storys of "staff shortages", but I just assumed they couldn't be bothered with puny Disco 3 deals as they must be selling so many 60K Range Rovers!
Hartwells in Oxford are very good. Highly recommended. Only 30-40 mins from High Wycombe.

Not very near to you, but T.H.White near Swindon (2 mins. from M4) gave me one of the best Test Drive experiences I've ever had. They are Independent & it really showed, in total contrast to a previous Test Drive at my nearest Hunter's.
Can't vouch for servicing etc. as I haven't got my D3 yet, waiting until the end of the quarter to get a good deal & an 06 plate, both of which I hope will help to soften the dreaded depreciation!

Try Webbers of Basingstoke. Not too far from you. They lent me Disco 3 Auto with tow bar and electrics for 2 days so that I could try with my 'van on the back end.

I went to Hartwell's in Oxford after having tried Stratstone in Aylesbury and High Wycombe.
Was very happy with the service.

Marshalls of Peterborough |

Marshalls of Peterborough are a very good dealer and that is where my personal thanks go to. The product manager and the DP are both excellent and very attentive. They may not do the very best deal in price, but that is made up for by the rest. Not forgetting the most important guys, the service manager and the service reception. Service reception is not only first class but one of the most polite bunch of guys you could ever meet, nothing is too much trouble for them.

The Stratstone dealer near Heathrow, Heathfirld I think were very keen and came up with the most competitive price on a TDv6 HSE.
Failing that Guy Salmon in Stratford upon avon were also very competative on price.
Webbers were very expensive!!!

Lakeland Landrover. We first bought a Freelander from them in '01, then a Disco 2 in '04, and now the Disco 3.
The DP is very down to earth and friendly. The dealership began as a family firm and shows every sign of it remaining so. This shows in the level of customer service, nothing short of amazing!
Prices seem to be on average okay, although our Disco has only done 7,600 miles and its nearly a year old! so will see what they charge for servicing.

Went to Frank Ogg in Elgin they did not want to sell us a Discovery 3. They offered us a silly amount for our Disco 2 in exchange, an offer that favoured them. Told them we would get a quote from another dealer. Despite me saying that all we wanted was a fair deal they never changed there offer. Went to Macrae & Dick in Inverness. They wanted to sell me a car, even gave me the keys so that I could test drive an automatic, as I was looking for a manual a that time. They offered me a fair deal on the Disco 2 ( I had got the Glass's guide value from the Internet). We now pick up our Discovery 3 up on 4th March. Just can't wait.
This was the second time we have tried to buy a Land Rover from Frank Oggs. We were looking for a top of the range Discovery2 and paying cash ut had to goto Town & County Aberdeen.

Chippypip doesnt know it , but I live close to him, but South.
I can thoroughly recommend Kentdale Landrover in Kendal, from whom we have bought 5 Discos over a number of years, and now a new SE on March 1st.
They give service which I think is exceptional. Nothing is too much trouble.
From a sales viewpoint they are very competitive, and I have no scruples in quoting other dealer prices , which they generally match, but after a while as you age, you get to know when the stone is failing to produce blood.
They are a pleasure to deal with, and I would have to be dragged kicking and screaming to go anywhere else.
