Boot release micro switch dead
OK.. this morning loaded stuff in D3 through the boot - as you do.
Drove into Soho and Mayfair wearing Boughrood colours
Went to open boot... dead.
Tried locking unlocking... dead
Tried emergency open (holding both lock and unlock on dash)... boot releases mechanically half way... won't open anymore.
The very helpful team at Stratstone Mayfair reckon micro switch gone... or fuse but their service dept are in Kings Cross so cannot be 100% sure this is the isssue.
Does anyone know if it is fused in isolation ? Would imagine not.
Cheers

No mention of fuse for tailgate (or central locking) in the book. Does your CL still work?

Looks like dealer is right. Good job the 2nd row folds forward to allow you into the boot! I've been doing this for 2 weeks now ! My car goes for some 'therapy' in the bodyshop to fix the tailgate on Friday.

yeah... fold down from inside is very useful for us owners... shame it makes the boot vulnerable after a break in...
Oh well... Shukers it is then.

yes, but most cars are vulnerable in a break in. Most cars have folding seat backs that are released from inside the car.
Mini does not though! they are released from in the boot. Alright its not a boot, its a cubby hole in the back
