Does your Sat-Nav "Low Fuel Warning" work?
Hi,
Has anybody seen this feature actually work?
On the Sat-Nav display, going into the Navigation Set-up you have the option to select Low Fuel Warning "On" or "Off". According to the manual, when this is set to "On", if you enter a destination into the Sat-Nav that is further away than the currently indicated vehicle range (instrument cluster), a pop-up message should warn you that you'll need to fill up along the way.
Mine is set to "On", but after 12000 km of ownership, I'm yet to see the pop-up!
Cheers

Mine seems to work okay. Lets me know if I don't have enough fuel for the journey that I have set up in the sat nav.
Is this a first??????????

Yep, I know this one cos I set mine up that way. Its in the POI menu, mine shows restaurants with the relevant national flag too, like a french restaurant etc.
Then again, I do have an upto date disc if that makes a difference

Actually, I have seen the message you refer to. I've not seen it on my current 08.5my D3, but my old 05my used to display it if I entered a stupidly long journey.
For example, If I entered home to Lands End, via waypoints in John o Groats, Dover, Anglesey etc. It would display a message "You may not have enough fuel to reach destination" or something similar.
It never came up in normal operation, even when entering long journey to Monaco, and I could never make it display to order. It did seem to be a bit of random code in the sat nav that never got properly finished.

The message I'm referring to is a window that pops up after you hit the 'Start' button to commence the journey. IIRC it was after the message telling you to 'obey traffic regulations'
I can't remember the exact wording, but it was something like 'you have insufficient fuel to reach your destination'
Like I say, I cannot repeat it, and its never happened on my latest d3.
When the low fuel level alarm starts it displays the near fill up sites
...the low fuel warning light on mine gives me approx 35 miles of average speed running & I have chugged into filling stations a couple of times.
The strategy I use now is when the light comes on I stop & use my two 5+ litre containers into the tank which gives me some confidence i remote places.BREXIT - done properly.
