Overspeed Warning

I have noticed that my overspeed warning does not activate until i am well over the speed set. I have it set to 105kmh but no noise until at least 112kmh, LR Aus have told me that the ABS reads the speed and that the speedos are 4% inacurate which is why it chimes at 112 kmh as there is no leeway here for going over the limit. But once it has gone off at 112kmh it then sounds at 105kmh, so what speed am i doing? It all sounded a bit too technical for me. Any comments or easy explanations would be appreciated.

The problem is that the speedo is giving you an indicated ground speed, but if you are flying into the wind this can be a bit different to actual achieved speed, get my drift? Mad Mad Mad Oh sorry just realise the Disco is a car Twisted Evil

Seriously though mine tends to be pretty accurate at 80mph it kicks in. Obviously I am on private land!!

Mine does this to. The overspeed is set to 80MPH the first time it goes off is at 85MPH. After it's gone off once it will go off as soon as I hit 80 (until the car is restarted)

Must be another software glitch

Same for me - had the overspeed set at 75mph on handover and made it bong for the first time whilst giving it some poke (upto 80mph) onto the M60 on Saturday

(I actually thought something had broke again when it first bonged!) Embarassed

I seem to remember there being a delay in the overspeed warning (6 seconds?) to prevent it spitting out warnings for momentary 'transgressions' although once it has given the initial warning it is quite keen at repeating them as soon as you go over the threshold again
i'll have a look later for the exact wording

For sure 10... your right again. Fooled us here ages ago for a while this one did. But normal.

Also try turning it off and on again - press the 'i' button until you see the overspeed warning in the message centre (while in motion or you'll scroll to the Settings Menu) and press and hold the 'i' button until it turns off... not sure if it chimes. Then just press and hold the 'i' button to switch back on.

Very useful this is too if you want to overspeed and not have it ding at you Wink

I have exactly the same issue. HSE TDV6 one month old, overspeed set to 110km/h. First time round sounds at 119, then at 110 till the ignition is turned off, then same issue next time, et al ... but it's still the best vehicle I ever owned!
Why have I never felt this way about a 4WD before?

Sorry not to have come back before but had family staying plus fitted a trip in to Broome. Car went in for 2nd service and overspeed was on the list, it has to go back for a software update. Will advise when it is done.
