Thanks
Can I just pass on my extreme gratitude to the regular contributors to this excellent site. The reason?, I have now taken the plunge and have been the very, very proud owner of a Zermatt TDV6 S Auto for the last 3 days. If it hadn't been for the boundless enthusiasm of the members I may have been put off by tales of various reliability issues. But what the hell, life's too short. After browsing this site since before xmas some of the excellent postings gave me the confidence to go ahead and dump the comfort of a company funded car and go and get something I really wanted. And boy, do I love it!!!
Going to sit by the window now and look at it for a while.

Can you not put some kind of Blue Peter Appeal "how are we doing this week?" Totaliser style image up to let us know how close you are?Steve N | 21MY Defender | 08MY Discovery 3 (history) | 06MY Discovery 3 (ancient history)

ÃŽt's time that I should join Biggus to thank all those who make this site a fascinating place. I've had my Disco now for three weeks and about 4000 kms and find it great, not a problem yet or anything to reduce the grin, despite the (very minor) quibbles I have reported in other threads.

Hear, hear - I would like to join Biggus, espri, et al for the knowledge that is mostly unbiased and helped me join the growing band of happy owners. "Life is too short" aptly sums it up if you worry about what might have been...
Although I am a little worried that I have not had compressor/suspension issues yet <g> (My tailgate interior lamp was burned out on delivery so that should count as a grumble for me.)
Enjoy your D3, I know I am happy with my choice.LeighW
The old girl is on her third engine...
* first ran a bearing (design failure in original engine)
* second had a failure of the water outlet on top of the engine (pls check yours)

Cheers chaps.
A week in now and yes, the permagrin is still there, and how. I have spent most of this evening banging on endlessly to my mates what a brilliant vehicle it is. This car si by far the best that I have ever driven (and I've had a few), and I have to say that SWMBO is also smitten and she was extremely pessimistic about the whole venture. So there you go.
What i really need to do now is take the plunge and book onto an offroad day. Nothing too risky, mind don't want to scratch my baby. Any suggestions????

Glad to hear you're enjoying it, had mine for six months and the still there
I'll have a look for some lanes around the Derbyshire / Staffs. area soon - maybe a mini- meet?
Failing that, Neo knows the guy that organises events at Cannock Chase....
Failing that.... we could always do a pub meet and stare out of the window at Disco3's 8)
