Hi Everyone,
The deed has been done, I have ordered a Disco 4 to replace my Range Rover Sport. This will be my 9 Land Rover and a far cry from the 109 Pick Up I purchased in 1989 from Town and County in Aberdeen, Scotland.
The Landy will arrive sometime in late Jan 2010 and replace the footballers wife's car that is the Ranger Rover Sport. Never been 100% happy with the TDV6 RSS since I drove out of the Melbourne dealer in Jan 08.
Even though it had everything including rear dvd, tv, sat nav, xeon, wood, sunroof, pti, fridge, and rear camera I was never happy. The Red and Sliver bling mister that is the RSS never really worked unless is was a super charged one.
I also missed the truckness of the Disco, the size and versatility of it. One day towing a 3 ton horse box, next day transporting 7 people, next day heading to the opera. Lots of my friends think I am crazy trading down to a Disco from a RRS, funny lots of people do not realize that a RSS is not a FFRR, and think the Disco an lesser car. Funny as the two are the same thing with different body.
So I have ordered the following:
HSE 3L TDV6
Metallic paint - Sliver
Piano Black Wood
Surround Camera System
Keyless Entry
Premium Leather - Ebony
Logic 7 14 Speaker Stereo
Tow Kit.
The wife will kill me changing the car after only 2 years but if I had to choose between my true love and my wife I might pick my true love.
So guys and girls of Disco Land please welcome me back from the land of bling.
Andrew

Welcome back
TBH I was never really convinced by the 'Sport' label of the RRS when it was launched with the 2.7 TDV6 engine.
It's a cracking engine, but it doesn't even come close to sportiness. The styling yes, but the powerplant no.
The supercharged V8 give it the legs it needed and the TDV8 was more than acceptable, but the 2.7 TDV6 no...
Good luck with the D4 - it sounds great 2006 Discovery 3 TDV6 SE Auto Buckingham Blue

Welcome back! If you ask an LR sales person then most of them prefer the Disco as the RRS is not as roomy or as versatile. If you want performance of supercharger etc just go buy a cheap Scooby and run that for a few weeks to get it out of your system. Not many people want the fuel consumption of the RRS petrol guzzler. Honestly Marge, I wouldn't have done it if I thought you would find out!
