so on the D4 they have made the effort on the engine ancillary front to actually make the vulnerable bits waterproof; starter motor, alternator etc. Having had 'one or two' replacements of these whirry parts in my D3 ownership due to 'water ingress', what are the chances that these bits might fir the D3 lump then? Anyone in the know care to offer an opinion...? and theeeeennn......???

I've been told by a component manfacturer that LR's specs for the 3.0 starter motor included that it must be able to operate submerged. This manufacturer declined to quote for at least this reason.

Thought the point was that it's the first parallel-sequential turbocharger setup on a V engine. So both turbo's provide boost to all 6 cylinders through all those pipes and valves. I didn't think the block looked all that different - it fits the same mounts as the 2.7 after all.

It's a new build but very, very similar to the 2.7 ...don't know where the twin v comes into it though Neil ....you sure you weren't checking your hair while they were talking about that ? 21 year LR veteran > D2 GS 2003 > D3 S 2006 > D3 HSE 2009 > D4 HSE 2013 > D4 HSE 2015 > D5 HSE 2018 > DS HSE R-Dynamic P300e 2021
