Well it's happy birthday to the D3 this week. Can't believe I have had her for a year now. Anyway the inevitable service was required although she's only done 9500.
Being a canny Scot (that's code for mean and tightfisted) I phoned all the local and not so local dealers for a price.
Phoned Pentland first (as they are just down the road) and they wanted £330. However when I explained I would be phoning a few others they said that if I came back to them having received a lower quote elsewhere that they "would see what they could do". Stratstone were in fact more expensive (£340 I think) but Morrisons in Stirling were £280. A few other Stratstones were all about the same as was the dealer down in Kelso.
Back on the phone to Pentland and without any hesitation they price matched. Came and picked up the vehicle from home, did the service + Re-attached the "A" pillar trim that blew off + they reckon they found the fault on the radio (had been getting very poor reception)... they say it was an aerial connection loose .. not totally convinced yet . Washed and valet.
Can't really knock them ... so far. Something that doesn't drink diesel and doesn't cost a bloody fortune everytime it needs serviced / fixed. But hey ....I got a deal from the leasing company on my D3 that you guys can only dream about !
