Well what an afternoon!
Handover was delayed a little due to an issue with sidesteps, but they are on and mudflaps too! Camera was there thank goodness!!
I have not had a chance to get some decent pics unfortunately but will upload the one from iphone asap. She goes like a bomb!! Bit of a lag at take off but kicks in pretty quickly thereafter.
Will be sure to post some comments and more decent pics asap

Because of the wheels?
The rear lights and air intake look like D4 to me? Also the boot area has light coloured mouldings which I think only came with the D4.
But without the view of the front end, it's amazing how identical they look in this photo....2006 Discovery 3 TDV6 SE AutoBuckingham Blue 2007 Golf GT DSG

Just checked - the MY09 19" wheels are the same on the D4.
Another complaint....the LR website is bloody awful...
The image of the 19" 7 split spoke doesn't load and no matter whether you choose 18" or 20" wheels, they are shown as the same size with the same profile tyres 2006 Discovery 3 TDV6 SE AutoBuckingham Blue 2007 Golf GT DSG

Oh really....
I think its very clear now that the MY09 D3 was from an exterior perspective a big jump towards the D4 - leaving LR to manage bringing onstream just the front end changes from an external point of view - innards and drivetrain obviously more significant
One wonders if they hadn't had bothered with the MY09 D3 how much a bigger jump the D4 would have appeared to be over the MY08 D3 (and consequently making the price rise seem more justifiable) Steve N | 21MY Defender | 08MY Discovery 3 (history) | 06MY Discovery 3 (ancient history)
