| Battery - Replacement of Original |

Hi all,
I need to replace my Original L/R Battery.
Using my Yellow Top Optima as a jumper start battery when cold.
I got a quote for a TDV6 one from L/R here in Sydney - $385 incl GST!!!!!!!
I then got a quote from NRMA - $187!!!!!!! Heavy Duty 650cc amp. 2 yr warranty.
Has anyone got any recommendations?

18 months ago I replaced my original LR battery with an RACWA (equivalent to NRMA) one. In my case I replaced the smaller V8 battey with the slightly more powerful TDV6 one and it's been no trouble since then. Provided it is specced for the higher voltage, and NRMA gives a valid warranty the cost savings certainly makes it worth doing. The savings is 2 tanks of fuel and if for some reason the new battery fails, there's always the yellow-top jumpstart routine. Supercharge do a lead calcium which may be OK check that the capacity is the same as the LR one.

Had a close look - no cracks.
I'll try to source a price on those SuperCharge batteries, the bigger one seems to be the same size as the standard one at 351mm long.
Need to check on what way the the posts are set.
Spoke to the Sydney office - MF77 $232 rrp
MF88 $271 rrp
I'll advise if the MF88 fits.

I inadvertently left my lights on in the Hunter Valley and the LR battery went totally flat. (Wouldn't even open the doors). Rang Land Rover assist and they sent out the NRMA with the recommended replacement.
They replaced the original battery with a high capacity NRMA branded calcium battery.
My car is a July 06 build so I figured that I had over three years of life out of the battery and having totally flattened it the potential for further problems was high.
NRMA battery was A$254 including GST.  2017 Range Rover Sport TDV6 L494 Fuji White
2011 Range Rover Sport SDV6 L320 Fuji White Loved but GONE
2010 TRAKKA Motorhome Fiat Ducato GONE (What a dud, don't buy one)
2006 Discovery 3 SE TDV6 Automatic Chawton White/Ebony. Loved but GONE

Yes the larger MF88 fit fine.

I just changed mine. Got it from the LR dealer in Adelaide, $200.30c. It was a Varta, 925Cold Crank Amps, 100AH genuine LR one  . 2013 D4, E-diff, Vision pack

Varta one may be the apporoved replacemet rather than genuine LR part.

They have 3 batteries for the D3 ranging from 800 to 850CCA - Price?
Not sure if the 15mm higher would be a problem though. 190mm instead of 175mm.

I found a Varta distributor when researching a replacement battery. I gave him the D3 battery specs and he came back with a price of $450  Correction to my previous post, my replacement is 950CCA and 90AH Varta, made in Germany. The info. on the box said; from Caterpillar Logistics Services  to the LR dealer. 2013 D4, E-diff, Vision pack
