Bonnet Badge paint come off |
|
The paint has been coming off the Land Rover badge on the front of the bonnet. New one's are around £50 and I am too tight to spend that on advertsiing Land Rover. I spotted these though on E-Bay and wondered if they are the same. They are from a Freelander 2, but I guess they might be the same.

Any idea's if they are any good.
EDIT: Or do I just buy a new car

That was what I told SWMBO, but she didn't agree
She thinks it is better to spend the money on a having the house decorated and a new driveway. What good is a new driveway if I haven't got anything new to put on it.

No Really I think you need some gentle heat on them. Wait until the wife is out shopping and use her hair dryer to soften up the glue! Just make sure you get rid of the left over glue.

If any one else can give you other ideas, but it's normally the best way. Gentle heat.

The paint seems fine, just some of letters have just lost their paint. Happened a while back, but thought I should do something about it.
Not sure when it started really, it might even have been me that did it

I used dental floss to remove the letters using a sawing action. You can then peel the sticky tape off. I found this method easier than trying to pry the letters off. 16 D4 Landmark

The letters on my D3 have gone, likewise.
I believe it was a problem with the early units.
LR now supply a modified set.

Thanks will try the dental floss. I should have asked LR to change them as it started a while back when it was in warranty.
Funny thing is it only affects some letters.
