Shiny Steering Wheel, occasionally slips from grasp |
|
I've looked through what seems like hundreds of posts discussing sticky steering wheels and their successful replacement under warranty, however my wheel seems to have gone the opposite way.
I'd almost be delighted with a bit of traction from a sticky wheel! Mine has become glossed and shiny (and no, I don't polish it with anything, let alone silicon or something, it's a natural effect).
The pattern of the leather seems to have ironed itself out, and now the wheel needs to be turned via the spokes to prevent it from slipping through my hands. It's more like a bit of well worn PVC
Has anyone else experienced this, or does anyone have advice on how to 'rough' the leather up again? Dr. Ian Malcolm:
"Yeah, but your scientists were so preoccupied with whether or not they could, they didn't stop to think if they should."
Transgenic tomato anyone?

Circa £80-£100
ebay have them for £130 or nearest offer (I offered £110 and got the 2009 smooth Nappa leather, then swap your core over and re-fix)
