Does anyone know how this works - I've looked at the site for the small print but can't find any. Is it any car within xx distance and does it have a tolerance on the mileage?

The same spec car, history / owners / mileage / condition etc, at a main dealer within 40 mile radius of your supplying dealer.

It a bit like playing 'Land Rover Snap'!
You can get most of the info you need from the used car locator on www.landrover.co.uk to establish what's available within the specified radius.
In my experience ... it is worth Jack !
Stratstones in Doncaster knew exactly what was in the 40 mile radius so could reel off a whole list of reasons why they shouldn't match anything!!
So, I drove the 30 miles to Huddersfield & saved 3 grand by getting a better deal on a 57 SE that had 5,000 miles more that the 57 SE that Stratstones had ....
Do your own research & dont fall for the dealer patter...Cheers Ian

Stratstone Nottingham vs Marshalls Melton Mowbray
I just saved £139 on a 45k service. Stratstone Nottingham quoted £439. They are 3 miles from where I live. Marshalls of Melton Mowbray (20 miles from my house) quoted me £300 and collected and returned the car fully serviced and valeted. I didn't go to Stratstone because when enquiring I asked for their best price being a loyal customer and feeling currently skint, and thats what I got. I'm sus of any price match from anybody. Dose this not mean if you dont check up your stung for the rack price ? Dont they just mark up to mark down ? I'd rather have an honest price at the start ! On principle i wouldnt use them if they quote a higher price only for you to have to check on alternative dealers. further to this ive only ever had bad experiences with Stratstone on sales and service ! oops do i sound bitter ? thats because i am they have failed in every dept IMO !

I was looking for a D3 (used) a few weeks ago, did loads of research, and found a like for like (exact model, year, colour, spec, mileage etc) which was 2k cheaper elsewhere, after lots of buts they agree to go with it, a short while after they called me back and told me someone had researved that particular car so it was not available. This happened on 2 occasions over 2 weeks with 2 different Stratstones - didn't bother with them in the end!!!

I wont waist my time with Statstone anymore now that I've tried Team Valley LR. Top service allround, Stratstone have only ever let me down - sales-service-comms- all sub standard ! IMO
