HSE Spec change.
For everyones info.
From VIN 516866, HSE spec discos will not have the 4 rear head sockets, unless rear entertainment (DVD) is fitted.

Meant to say headphone sockets. Factory DVD is not IR but through the headphone sockets, which will still be fitted if DVD ordered. Only FFRR gets IR headphones.

Do the ones coming through the dealers at the moment still have the sockets. I'm picking my D4 HSE up on Monday and I really like this feature on my present D3 HSE, well the boys in the back do!!!. It'll be a shame if it doesn'thave them.

Are these the sockets in the rear doors that allow someone in the back to listen to something other than what's been pumped out over the speakers, then? That's a useful feature.
So apart from the stupid price, LR are trying to make the HSE spec even less attractive?

Those are the ones - most cars that are coming through now will not have them.

I have just got my D4 which does have the rear sockets. Not that I have any idea how to use them yet! My VIN pre-dates the 516866 so I guess I'm lucky there Paul
Just picked my D4 up, and yes its great but I'm a bit peeved doesn't have rear sockets and controls as in my last HSE. Dealer thought it was a build fault as he was unaware of this change in spec. Told them they should look at this forum as I'm upto date than they are !!!
Other than that very happy

I was lucky, picked up my D4 HSE on Friday and it has the rear seat headphone sockets. With or without them its still a great vehicle.

Bumping this question to the "correct" thread - due to call dealer tomorrow about some other itmes so would like to be able to get them to commit.
Does anyone know if it is just the headphone panels that are removed (ie the wiring etc is all there) If so then I will ask the garage to swap the panels from their demonstrator - That way their demonstrator will be respresentative of what the customers will be getting and I'll be.
