well it had to happen. Got my first warning light this afternoon, gear box fault.
Dealer says they have had a few issues with this already, apparantly a software issue that needs a new disc still? Did seem like a trigger happy fault to me as the minute you turned the car off and on again it went away

well, i have had wonderful week in a new freelander 2
my car she is faulty. What started out as a gearbox fault has now gone to faulty throttle peddle and a car that just drops to 0 revs whilst driving below 30 mph whenever it feels like it.
Needless to say there is no fix yet So, i have had my car in the dealership more than I have had it at home which is really annoying!!
I suppose one positive is that the door rubbing strips and the privacy glass is on
I will keep you all posted with the updates

Thats bad news and I bet you are disappointed.
How many miles had you covered when the fault first developed ?

a whopping 42 miles, so really disappointed to tell you the honest truth. I just want to get my own wheels back. I have not even had a chance to get out onto the open road yet!
Anyway, lets hope they get something sorted this week or I am going to stick my foot up someone's to give them the hurry up!

eventually heard some news today the fault that was supposedly causing the issue was down to a faulty throttle peddle and malfunctioning brake module will have to wait and see if that sorts it out. part was on order so hopefully arrives tomorrow so i can get my friggin car back!

Past experience seems to show that Disco3's either gave very few problems or were "lemons" - might be as well to think about it quickly, and look carefully at the requirements for rejecting motor vehicles (trading standards may help with advice)
