I hate my faultmate !!!!!
I have just plugged it into the car... and guess what....
Its found loads of Faults
EGR
Body Control (whatever that is)
and some entertainment ! faults.
I'm sure its malfunctioning because my car never goes wrong
anyway, ive reset the fault codes and will give it a re-check when I get back this afternoon Duncan

Albourneboy wrote:My car was Turbo-chipped back in early 2006. Does the Faultmate back up the engine management configuration so that it can be restored to the TC settings if, say, the stealers were to reflash the engine management ECU back to factory default (or would I lose my TC upgrade for ever)?
Would be good if you could backup Any thoughts on this being possible Colin

I dont know how it worked that out - i dont have a single CD or MP3 track in the car. I prefer to listen the wind noise from the roof rack and rumble from the tyres Duncan

Oi I told you not to tell anyone What I did would not have created a fault as I did nothing more than move tha arm through its designed parameters In the Beginning there was nothing, which exploded.

I restested this morning after my run yesterday and now only getting 3 DTC faults - (not sure if this is the correct place to talk about this - perhaps a new thread to discuss codes may be needed - i'm sure mods will oblige if required )
1) Engine Mgt P2199 - Air Intake temp 1/2 correlation General Failure
2) Instrument Pack - U0132 - lost comms with ride level control module
3) Body Control - B1D17 - Perm FF
I have no idea what they mean , but Im really pleased i know they are there
any ideas, I'm guessing no 1) is the one to focus on.. Duncan

Hi Duncan,
(1) could possibly be a faulty Air Intake Temperature or Air charge temperature sensor and should really be looked at.....you haven't got the intercooler jammed full of mud have you?
(2) could probably be ignored as it only seems a comms problem and this can happen quite often between ECUs as far as I understand.
(3) have you rewired the alarm to use the horns? ISTR that this will constantly cause this fault code in the BCM
Hope this helps 2006 Discovery 3 TDV6 SE Auto Buckingham Blue
