Potential stupid question but I am blond so have an excuse!
What actually is "keyless entry"?
Should the car unlock when I walk up to it without taking the keys out of my pocket? and lock when i walk away from it?
Thanks!

Hi
The keyless entry on the D4, works with key in pocket etc..
When you put your hand on a door handle it will unlock, but it will not lock automatically when you leave the car.
For locking you either use the lock button on the fob or press the button on the outside door handle (there is one on each door)Wot's that in Old Money

Clicking the heels went out with bustles and corsets.
You have to wiggle your nose is a particularly cute way to operate the keyless entry successfully Wot's that in Old Money

Keyless entry is fantastic for a quick and easy way of entering the vehicle, but if you lock your vehicle and want to check to make sure that it is locked, it's really quite troublesome. That's because you have to hand your keyless entry fob to someone else and then go to your vehicle to pull on your door handle as a test.

If you are paranoid about locking cars like I am, checking mirrors folded bylooking out of window at night to check still locked is a pain as it is not that obvious (maybe my eyesight)
Was thinking about putting a spot of flourescent on the bit thats exposed when folded

Isn't this the reason you bring the wife along when you go out in the D4 - so she can check the doors locked for you leaving you to keep your hands in your pockets?SOLD - 23my Range Rover Sport D300 Dynamic SE

When you press the button on the handle (once or twice) then you have approx 1.5 secs to try the door handle to make sure it's locked (without it opening the door). Try it next time you lock the car.
I verge on having an OCD for locked cars (because of my job I guess) so this quick check is invaluable.
Keyless entry would appear to be a some sort of voodoo magic unless the dealer carried out a proper handover. I have spoken to people who have assumed that it locks itself as you walk away (which obviously isn't the case).
