Digital Switchover
Starting to get a bit fed up with this switchover thing and wondering how much it is costing every homeowner. It now seems everytime I retune I need a new box because it's too old / doesn't have the latest firmware to be compatible with the latest upgrade. With the government looking to sell off the wireless spectrum that digital frees up, I think they should make sure that the latest upgrades don't incur more expense for the general public in this digital revolution "Never keep up with the Joneses. Drag'em down to your level. It's cheaper".

They are also kindly selling off all the current CH67,68,69 radio mic frequencies to the highest bidder rendering 1000's of wireless mic's, recievers etc redundant in the industry. They get millions for the bandwidth and we get to spend £1000's on new kit that works in the new band they have kindly allocated when there is sod all wrong with the old stuff A Pro Sony mic/reciever is £1000 upwards, not the £150 crap on eblag!!
Thanks for the pleasure of that rant.. Off Roading is OK.... But I'd rather be Boating!

Forgive my ignorance, but what exactly happens to the 'spectrum' that is sold off? And who is buying it?
Still waiting for rural Perth to go digital...No longer a D3 owner but still subscribed to multiple threads!
