Shredded wiper blades
I have a problem with shredding wiper blades.
When I first got my car the blades were great in the rain. Nice and quiet, cleaned the screen nicely. Just as wipers should be. But then after a few hundred miles they started to streak, leaving lines of water on the screen.
So not knowing the history of them I just figured they must be the original set and had just worn out so I replaced then with a set of Valeo ones after reading the reviews on the forum.
Anyway all was good but now less than a 1000 miles later, but being used in the wet weather of late, they are streaking again to the point I would class as dangerous especially in the dark with headlights bouncing off the front screen.
I can see no fault of the blades and no apparent fault on the screen.
Anybody else seen this type of problem or any advice on what to do besides replacing the blades again only for them to be shredded as well.For details on the next Kielder Safari click visit the Kielder Safari website

Have you checked the wiper blade surface for signs of damage, in case someone (anti 4x4 brigade) is tampering with them using a blade or similar
edit: re-read the post and it seems you probably have I believe that every human has a finite number of heart-beats. I don't intend to waste any of mine running around doing exercises.

Not allowed a dog, much as I love them, but the lime trees out front give my windscreen no end of from August till October almost impossible to remove but i find running my thumnailo up the wiperblade a couple of times clears the for a day or so

How strong/weak is the screen wash mix, could that be a contributory factor in the poor performance I believe that every human has a finite number of heart-beats. I don't intend to waste any of mine running around doing exercises.

Most washing up liquids have salt in them , I think the original fairy liquid formula doesn't though, my mates a builder and they but a squirt of fairy liquid in the cement mixer , cheaper stuff makes cement have White salt streaks.

Try cleaning with a clay-bar and a weak vinegar mix,worked on mine
