Gallery links to posts
is there any way of getting a gallery link to a the thread it's posted in?
While surfing through the online pics, it's obvious some must be linked to posts. It would be good to be able to see which threads these pics appear in.
Not sure if it's possible or feasible, but would add to the recent improvements

It would be technically possible, by searching through all 549k posts in the database for links to gallery pictures, then looking each one of those up in the gallery database to find out which pictures are linked to which posts.
However, as there are 549k posts this is a very database intensive process, and would need repeating regularly as new posts are made, pictures deleted, etc etc.
The gallery and forum aren't actually interconnected, you manually copy-and-paste links to pictures into forum posts, the gallery system doesn't have any idea that you're doing that - that's why it's not there as an automatic feature 06 D3 SE / 15 LR D90 XS SW / 88 LR 90 Td5 / 68 BMW 2000 ti

Pity though, but I can imagine when you explain it that way, that it would be a monster task, which would grow.
