I'd be interested in opinions on the following.
Have lost both performance and had worsening mpg over the last couple of months. Having had a new turbo some 10,000 miles ago I was obviously getting concerned, (as was my bank manager)
Anyway, long story short, got to the point where 22 mpg was the best I could achieve on a run.
Took the Disco to a local specialist who has AutoLogic, and cost about £100 / hour less than Stratstones. The only significant fault code he could find was "Knock sensor fault bank 1 front LHS. Circuit range/performance"
This was cleared, and didn't reappear after a decent test run.
Must say the car feels much better, and will have to wait to see if mpg improves.
Could this be the culprit? Discovery TDV6 S Silver

When it's good it's very good, but when it's broken I want my money back.

one or two chaps have had turbo pipe delamination. Inside the airhose pipes the inside walls come away restricting air flow. Kills the performance, but is usually accompanied by lots of black smoke.
sounds like no EGR faults were logged.

They inspected the inter-cooler pipes, couldn't see anything. No EGR faults either as this was what I half expected.
I'll have to see if the mpg improves. It's not cold enough for the FBH yet as I'm aware that this knocks the mpg down a bit.
Seems odd that I've got a fairly consistent 25 - 26 mpg over 4 years, and suddenly down to 22. I'll have to check the weight of my right boot Discovery TDV6 S Silver
