Kangaroo question

Hello

Firstly - I've picked up much useful infomation from this forum - so many thanks.

We've got a 06 Disco 3 with manual transmission.

Since having it serviced (36k) earlier this year, it has developed a tendency to buck a bit at low rev's in 1st gear.
This is a bit of pain when in slow moving traffic. It's not so bad as to be intolerable - but is annoying.

Last 3 refuels have been Texaco, Gulf and Tesco.

Does anyone else experience this with their car at low rev's in first gear? It doesn't happen in low-range.

Could anything have been done during the service that could upset the engine managment?

Many thanks in advance

Darren

Hi Darren, and welcome.

Not sure if mine was as bad as a "bucking" but had uneven revs at low speed about 12 months ago.

Dealer did a software upgrade and it's been fine since.

Hi

I have had this problem with my 06MY manual as well. Doesn't do it all the time and was worse when I first got it than it is now. Mentioned it to the dealer when I took it in for its 45k service about a year ago and they said they'd done 'a software update' and it was certainly better afterwards but still does it ocassionally.

I have learnt to live with it as one of the vehicle's 'quirks'!

My 06 manual didnt like crawling (like no throttle but foot fully off the clutch). Its almost as though 1st gear ratio is slightly too high. As you say, fine in low range, but the throttle mapping is different (I think) in low.

Mine used to do it, starting slowly then progressivly getting stronger (if you didn't stop it by semi engaging the clutch...)

Solution: B A S remap... Thumbs Up

I'm sure a software update would also do it... Wink
