Remap for my 2005 HSE auto |
|
Hi to you all from a new member.
I live in Dursley, Glos and would appreciate your advice on the best remap to go for on my 2005 HSE.
Ideally i don't want to have to travel too far, in case the remap needed to be re-flashed, after servicing.
Would really appreciate people's own experience with tuning companies and advice regarding any other mods
which will compliment the remap and where i can get this work done, or who can come and visit me at home to
carry out the work.
Looking for a good solid map, with some flexibility to adjust if necessary. Also, who is doing any good deals.
What sort of power gains/improved driveability i can expect.
Would appreciate all your comments, thinking of maybe 5 alive or BOS.
Anyone local, i could chat too/meet up with to discuss their instalations.
Regards

No one is local to you. Allisport is the closest.
TorqTune will travel to you http://www.disco3.co.uk/forum/member179.html
Pete at Bell Autos will post a tuning box that will apply a re-map or re apply the standard map.
And there are others In the Beginning there was nothing, which exploded.

Have a little patience Kidz - it's Friday night and not everyone will be reading the thread you started just 1 hour ago.....give people a chance to answer
Not sure what the ' " was for - AndrewS's answer was probably as accurate as you're going to get. All 3 suppliers are known and respected and the last two are forum sponsors and hence very well known.

Buy a D4 it's equivalent to a D3 with a tune IMHO. Available NOW at your "local" dealer

The 'best' remap is obviously a Torq-Tune - ask any of my clients 8) no doubt the others will say the same but they chose price over value for money
TBH, unless you have the cash to do a back-to-back comparison, it comes down to who you trust and which of the various options suits you best

Guarantee of what? I've never charged any of my clients until they're happy with the remap so what's the difference

I have a TFC TorqTune remap.
It removed the lag from standstill pull away, gives a nice little "shove" when accelerating and has improved the MPG by a little. I can't tell you how much in real terms - because i've changed the config of my D3 several times i.e. had a rack, took it off, ran MTR's and then ran conti's.
I went for TFC's remap - because i trusted him, having met him several times at various events i knew he was as good as his word and indeed he applied the remap - i test drove the car, liked what i felt/experienced and then he charged me.
Not had a problem with it since

Don't have any complaints about my JE Engineering Stage 1 tune - they were very helpful....mind you, I'm only comparing to what my D3 was like pre-tune. I do like the sound of the BAS switchable map though!!!! '05 HSE, Tonga Green, G4 Expo rack, G4 ladder, 19" MTRs, RRS S/C Brembos and rear brakes, JE Stage 1 tune, ITG Pro filter, Black/silver badging, loadspace slider.

I had TT done by TFC whilst at the Boughrood site, when it was still open , in the morning drove in and up the hill in 2nd & 3rd, in the afternoon after TT 4th & 5th. Much smoother, removes the lag and gives a great big smile when you pull out to over take
Never had any issues from dealers or MoT (i.e. she don't smoke when you boot it, unlike other tunes I know of) LRs are a fond memory, apart from the maintenance.
