Reduced Performance - Red Triangle
I've been happy as Larry with my new D4 HSE in all this snow. I got it in mid-November, been doing trips of mainly 20 miles or so and garaging it overnight, now clocked up 1700 miles. This week I took it for a bool to York and parked it outdoors at -5oC overnight. Next morning it started fine but after I have driven less than half a mile through easy snow (no effort required) a warning came on in dash saying Reduced Performance with no other text and accompanied by a red warning triangle. There appeared to be no change in performance but I didn't try it very hard. I stopped the motor, locked the car for a few minutes to try to reset it but the message was still there on restart.
A look in the hand book told us to stop and get professional help so I called LR rescue and after being in a dialling queue for ages they sent the AA (it was a Sunday and no dealers nearby). Half an hour later AA arrived and of course when reigniting the motor the error warning was no longer present. His diagnostics only reached to the Disco3 andfound no logged errors. (he mentioned that his last similar example (not D4) was caused by the fuel particulate filter)
Since then I have been driving without event.
Logging this in case of future recurrence or others with similar experience.
Can I get the diagnostics hardware and software for my pc without shelling out a fortune?2016 D4 Landmark SDV6 (Euro6), Zanzibar (late run D4)

Our new 2.7 D4 did the same after doing 900k. It happened once and actually stalled. After waiting for an hour and half for the tow truck it started again. They diagnosed it as some kind of fuel pump failure. After having it returned to us, it happened again within a couple weeks. Performance was actually reduced and the vehicle stalled. As we are receiving a new vehicle due to this reoccurring problem, I am not sure what the final diagnosis was for the fault.

I still wonder if this all has to do with the fuel level software that reduces performance when the fuel is low.“There are only three sports: bullfighting, motor racing, and mountaineering; all the rest are merely gamesâ€

you should get it checked at local dealer under warranty. I wouldnt like it if a warning came up on my car computer and cleared itself without knowing why...

Most likely will be secondary turbo actuator and solenoid. Bulletins covering this.

It was getting silly, red triangle three consecutive sub zero mornings on the way to work with cold engine when accelerating away from a junction on a level road as soon as revs exceded 2800rpm.
After second one I took it into Pentland LR, they diagnosed the fault and ordered the vacuum solenoid needed to fix it. It would take over a week to come.
On the 3rd day I got LR Assist out to it, and they replaced it there and then (he had to get the part which had just arrived from Pentland)
All sorted, not recurred. Happy now.
The replacement solenoid is a different part number to the original and apparently has a yellow dot on it (so you can tell them apart). I am also told that this fault is different to the one which used to occur on the Jaguars.2016 D4 Landmark SDV6 (Euro6), Zanzibar (late run D4)
