CHPR excellent pre-sales attention (now Lookers Park Royal) |
|
Having made a couple of general enquiries of James bearing in mind that he is a site sponsor, and even though I am not a current customer, I think it only fair to provide praise as he really is an example of what customer service should be from a LR dealer
Completely eclipses some of the poor service levels I have encountered from some, but not all, Scottish dealers . Thoroughly to be recommended & if I was more local would be great to have been able to visit the dealership.
Best of luck James with the change of dealership name in January - just make sure you keep up the good standards

DN,
Just a change of name, not a change of ownership!!
We are part of the Lookers Group but have been trading as Charles Hurst since we bought the dealership from HR Owen in 2006. Lookers bought the Dutton-Forshaw group a couple of years ago which has meant that our dealer network has been trading under Lookers, Charles Hurst, Taggarts, Dutton-Forshaw and Dovercourt to name but a few!
All Lookers dealerships in England, Scotland and Wales will be rebranded as Lookers, and our Irish dealers will be branded as Charles Hurst. There will be a few exceptions where the manufacturers like the dealerships referred to by location, such as Mercedes-Benz of Brighton as opposed to Lookers Brighton.
So, from 1st January we will be LWL as opposed to CHPR....... Lookers West London.
It is a little confusing as we have a good name as Charles Hurst, however you can see why the group would like the dealerships named the same to create a brand....... in a similar way that Pendragon rebranded to Stratstone a few years back.
So just to clarify, no staff changes, no changes to the way in which we look after our customers, no changes to our ownership or philosophy, just a change to the name!
James

Got to admit, I like the current name and "Lookers" sounds like a discount food supermarket. 2014 D4 XS

Thanks for the support!
Looks like we will need to wear shell suits and diversify into groceries and table-dancing, as well as selling Land Rover's!
I'd like to think that you deal with dealers that you know and trust as opposed to the ones with fancy names?
On a serious note, can I have your opinion on 'Park Royal' or 'West London' from the perspective of understanding where we are (i.e. not in Central London) and how easy we are to reach (i.e. again, not in Central London)! We quite often get asked if we will pay a customers congestion charge if they visit us, however we are a fair few miles out of 'the zone'.
James

I'd say as you seem to be right opposite Park Royal then that is the best name - it tells us exactly where you are, rather than saying "west London" which is a pretty big area 2014 D4 XS

park royal.. 8)
Purely from a marketing point of view it is the stronger name choice, esp having royal in the name,,, word association helps alot with brand recognition..
Lookers just goes totally the other way... one wife.......livid

Park Royal for sure, I travel to London every week and now you said Park Royal I realise I have passed you loads of time . Your just on the A40, with a Jag dealership next door.
I used to go to BBC Kendal avenue all the time, until they moved to Langley. Next time I am passing on the way to White City you can show me a D4
By the way if you said West London I wouldn't have realised where you were, so definitely Park Royal.

To James at CHPR, who kindly received a PM from me on this site and posted some pics for me on the dark side. Many thanks for the sales support, even though the sale has been made by the Luxembourg dealer.

BTW, Charles Hurst Park Royal definitely has a better sound to it than "Lookers".
