Rear light guards are not all the same

I hadn't noticed before but there are two types of rear light guards.

These aluminiuim ones which I took delivery of today - bit of a bargain from the auction site which shall not be named

and these plastic versions

Maybe common knowledge, but news to me!

Funny you should post this. I saw a D3 fitted with this metal type only earlier today. Already wondering where i get them and mod them to fit the D4 rear lights.

They obviously dont "protect" the lights but merely guard (not sure what from though) Whistle

Do the grills make people move out of your way quicker? I have considered them but given that they serve no function what so ever, I changed my mind Crying or Very sad
