Lost power steering fluid. |
|
Guys.
I managed to get the car a bit stuck this morning, much . After 45 minutes of digging and toing and froing I was eventually helped out by a farmer. Big to him.
Anyway, once clear of the drift I noticed the steering was very heavy. I though a lot of snow had been compacted under the car and possibly into the steering but a quick check revealed an almost empty power steering reservior. I also had the amber 'park brake fault' light. I couldn't see any obvious signs of a leak so I took it straight to my local dealers and I await the dreaded "how much ?!" phone call.
Anyone any thoughts on what might have happened to the fluid?
Thanks. 2014 Defender 90.

Mine had a seal go on the power steering pump . Apparently a fairly common thing on earlier models . Wasn't a big job to fix

Well apparently the pump has failed and needs replaced and the price I've been quoted makes it seem like it's a big job - £638
I'm absolutely gutted. Anyone spare a tenner (or sixty) ? 2014 Defender 90.
