Starter motor Problem after service |
|
Not sure if this is just a case of total coincidence or not, however had the car serviced and the cambelts changed at the same time, when I collected the car on starting the starter motor seemed to make a high pichted whine, asked the guys about it straight away as it certainly did'nt make that noise before i dropped it in for the work, they just said the motor was on it's way out, my qeustion is whether on replacing the cambelts this in anyway could have caused a problem with the started motor, cheers for help, Steve.
Oh and by the way, does anyone have a starter motor in the South West or South Wales area that is surplus to requirements......

the starter is removed during the timing belt change to allow the flywheel locking tool to be fitted.... maybe not coincidence?

I thought as much, I forgot to add that on the way back from the dealer the car lost the fan belt which they had to come out and refit, think we have a case of pre-christmas can't wait to go on holiday work, standby, they're getting it!!!
