Everyone whats to be your friend.....
How strange that a bit of snow, everyone whats your help to tow them out the snow. . .Yet I bet most of them call the living day lights out of 4x4's the rest of the year. . . .
But hey I think I have mastered the perfect 'smug' permagrin though
The following is a dramatic reconstruction of events that have not yet happened.....
Scenario A wrote:
NoDo$h: A hearty hello to you sir. I see your generic japanese remote control car has expired in a puddle of steaming lithium and melted snowflakes. Can I perhaps assist you?
Prius driver (for it is he): Well, err, I'd love you to help, but my deep-seated morals and fervent belief in green issues forbid me from accepting your gallant offer. I'll just sit here and hope my dogmatic adherence to the issue of global warming will lead to a dramatic and unexpected thaw, then I can be on my way. Are those seats..... heated?
NoDo$h: Why yes they are. Well a good day to you sir, and I applause your tenacity, if not your battery capacity.
Scenario B wrote:
NoDo$h: Alright there mate? Need a hand?
Prius Driver: Could you? That would be great.
ND: Sure, just give your insurers a bell and let them know you've authorised me to tow you to safety, and that you absolve me of any damage that might have already been incurred or might subsequently occur during the tow. Wouldn't want to be sued for helping you.
PD: I'm not doing that!
ND: off then. See you when the thaw arrives
Scenario C wrote:
ND: Need a tow?
PD: Great, could you?
ND: Sure. Just announce in a loud voice to all who can hear that AGW is a pile of crock and that you'll vote for any party that promises to abolish green taxes.
PD: Errrr.... no. I firmly believe (insert sanctimonious green twaddle here)
ND: In that case.... see my avatar? That's you that is.
I'll leave you to decide which is most likely 8)I know it's not considered "kind" to say no these days, but no. Just no, ok? And if it's not ok, still no.

There are 12 more staff sitting here in my office than there would have been had it not been for the fact that the boss has a D3
The staff know that there is no point in ringing in to say "I'm stuck and cannot get to work", because they know I will go and get them.
Took me an extra hour, and about 25 miles in 2 trips to get everyone. Our phones were switched on, on time at 9.
The threat of me picking a bunch of them up seems to have been enough I know it's not considered "kind" to say no these days, but no. Just no, ok? And if it's not ok, still no.

Two of our's didn't leave last night, so they won't be late today. Only issue is that the heating oil is running out and we won't get the delivery
