Towbar Electrics
Hi all, im looking at fitting a multi height tow bar on my D4 and does any one know wether you have to have the car enabled to fit the tow bar electrics, if so is this before or after fitting of the electrics.
Any feedback would be appreciated.
Many Thanks

If you get the system 'enabled' by the dealer (or whoever) then you get the added features of disabling rear parking sensors when connected, and no auto raising of the suspension using the terrain response.

When enabled the D4 does not cut the rear sensors out, it stops the car from changing hieght automatically, mine is going back in tomorrow for the dealer to look at this.MY17 D5 1st Edition Namib Orange

Does your trailer have L.E.D lights at the rear?
This may be the answer as there is not enough current draw to trigger the turn off signal. D4 Alaska/Almond 2.7 TDV6 with E-diff & extra's..

Mine isn't enabled, but it switches off the reversing sensors automatically.
The rear fog light still comes on as I have the 16 pin socket and there doesn't appear to be one available with the microswitch in to sense it.

Had mine fixed last week too - they'd forgotten to enable this setting, even though they fitted the towbar!

Just spent 2 hours trying to reason why my fogs lamps didn't work on my caravan when connected to my D4. Got another vehicle to hook up and the fogs on the caravan worked straight away.
Any ideas? All the other lights work on the caravan when connected to the D4, just not the fogs....

Do you know if the tow electrics setting is enabled in the CCF?
