I'm sick of people hitting me. I'm sure I am a psycho driver magnet. I've been hit on both sides whilst parked and now everyone wants to run up the back and reverse into me
The past week I've had 4 people run up the back of me and reverse into me whilst parking their car. They don't even get out to see if they have damaged my car let along their bomb.
I even had one guy accuse me of "parking" too close to the back of his car. The fact I was parked right on the line at the back and his wife reversed into my car and was half parked in MY spot didn't matter
If I put my tow bar on what can I put on the front?
Is it still illegal to have a tow bar attached whilst not actually towing anything?
I've thought of a nudge bar but I've front park sensors
Any ideas - and don't tell me to get off the road - I'm not the bad driver it is every other non LR driver on the road

AH! There seems to be a pattern occurring I have had three people run into my car in the last twelve months and two very close ones All have been a certain gender with young children strapped in safety seats. Luckily I have a bull bar and a rear Kaymar bar If I had been driving the wife's Peugeot 206 I don't think it would be with us anymore. So I'm sticking with the D3 for all my driving 2013 D4, E-diff, Vision pack

I think Garry is right you need a Kaymar rear bar as well. “There are only three sports: bullfighting, motor racing, and mountaineering; all the rest are merely gamesâ€

Only if the number plate is being obscured...
I leave my tow tounge and ball attached just for this reason.
I also have a habit of lowering the vehicle before leaving it..... now if someone has parked too close at the rear I just raise the vehicle and lock it up again and stand back and wait for them to rip off their front bumper as they reverse away....

The Mitchell Bros tow hitch works well and the LR nudgebar has protected the front a couple of times and rock sliders on the side. But still someone managed to back in to the door while parked in our very wide street.
Did have someone back into me last week. Could hear the sensor going off, and then bang. Got out and could not tell if his car was damaged or not, there were so many dents in it already. The D3 was fine, think he hit the tow hitch. Take the road less traveled. Thanks for the very useful hints. Especially gps-au
Looks like the tow bar will be permanently on and an ARB will be a great investment.
BTW Garryc I happen to be one of those certain gender drivers. I don't think it is the gender it is the type of car the others are driving - who will come off best? the d3 or mini micro toy car some are driving. I've found it is usually these drivers that fro some reason can't see me. It's not like the d3 is too small to see. Maybe EVERYTHING shrinks when you drive a micro car - even your eyesight.
Tiny car drivers, p platers and taxi drivers - if we get them off the road I'll be able to contain my road rage

Well I am talking about Adelaide drivers regardless of gender as being the worst on Oz. I grew up in Sydney and have driven in all cities except Perth, as well as in the USA, Canada and Britain. I have lived here for 30 years and have not seen a change in bad habits in all that time. I have driven in Sydney and Melbourne every year I have lived here so can make a comparison One of the close calls was a 'lady' in a Troopy who changed to my lane from the LH lane while I was travelling at the speed limit in the centre lane of a 3 lane freeway. As a Troopy on a steep hill she was probably doing about 60kph flat out. There was a sedan in the RH lane beside me. It was so close 2013 D4, E-diff, Vision pack

I understand - I had a "lady" with a certain hair colour merge (didn't even look into the mirrors just looked straight ahead like the road is ALL hers ) across the chevron from the freeway on ramp as I was going a bit over the speed limit but luckily there were no cars to my right - I did test the braking at higher speed though.
Last week a man decided to change lanes in his mini bus assuming space could be made between the side doors whilst I waited at the lights - if he didn't have the bus loaded with kids bouncing in their seats I would have run him off the road.
I figured he was under ALOT of pressure driving these kids around. He didn't just single me out he swerved back and forth between the lanes - no indicator as well. Like I'm a psychic (not psycho - I am at times) as well.

Well I haven't driven in SA since around 1993.
I lived in Cairns FNQ for 20 odd years till about q1 2007.
I travelled to Israel first in 2005, I was warned never drive in Israel they are the worst in the world.
Well upon arrival (for 7 weeks) I happenned upon 2004 Hyundai Getz, which considering the price I bought instead of renting and having deposit hassles etc. (actually its been great since that visit on other visit as well).
I found it was a pleasure to drive in that country, the only problem was on the freeways in that the changeable warnings where not in english !!.
Coming home to Australia, then moving to Sydney I can confidently say that any Sydney driver will not have any problem driving in Israel, even on the "wrong"side.
I have to class Sydney drivers as the worst on the planet, add you own descriptions, but definately the worst. If you can handle Sydney especially in peak hour, you dont have to worry ablout being able to handle anything !!

Sydney drivers - worst on the planet?
You should see the traffic in India and some places in China!
That was a pretty tame intersection too!

Having just come back from a holiday in Shanghai I have come to the conclusion they drive very badly there because of their sudden jump in wealth. If you are rich enough to own a car then you are rich enough to be able to fix it if you have an accident. Anyway doesn't the road belong to me if I can afford to drive a car on it? and everyone SHOULD make room for me when I change lanes suddenly. I don't know why they bother with traffic lights - it was basically free for all not matter what colour the light is.
It certainly was a shock from about 10 yrs ago when bikes (the pedal variety) dominated the roads and of course pedo's were the lowest class citizen (still are but not too many around)
I don't think their town planners (a bit like Sydney's) expected the sudden surge in drivers

My quotes are about 1st world countries and I have to say that the driving standards in Sydney have dropped somewhat but no cities are worse to drive in than Adelaide given the straight flat roads and low traffic density. Maybe the self righteous attitude here stems from the fact that South Australia was settled by free settlers and laws were enacted to not allow any one who was a convict even if pardoned to settle in the state. 2013 D4, E-diff, Vision pack
