| Variance in dealer price to replace disks + pads |

I drove down from Yorkshire to Surrey yesterday, and had some squealing from brakes.
Booked into Guy Salmon Thames Ditton in Surrey, and they quoted £850 for replacement of front and back discs and pads. Front were work 85%, back 90%. Also said handbake needed cleaning out, and would do as part of this.
I rang my local Guy Salmon in Wakefield, Yorkshire, and was quoted £520 all in!!! They said about 20% of labour rates and 15% off parts, something to do with being over 3 years old?
Rang Thames Ditton back, and she said oh yes, they could do something about >3yr old rate, but not parts, and re-quoted at £700, and said difference between them and yorkshire was labour rates.
Just shows what a difference there is between 2 garages within the same group, but in different parts of the country, and also not to trust the 1st price given!
