I have a D3 S which ive managed to upgrade loads of features in the cabin but one thing that still lets it down badly are the interior cloth seats, hence I want to change... Can anybody offer any info on the below questions pls (mine are heated also with manual controls):-
1) Re fitting, will any d3 seats from 2004 to current simply "fit" in the same place / screw fixings?
2) Do all leather seats come with electric controls or will i be able to find some manual ones?
3) Do all seats come with the heated modules in them from factory?
4) How does the airbag system affect replacement.
Im hoping i need to find some replacement leather seats, manual, with the heating element?
Thanks 2011 Discovery 4 HSE

I doubt that you would Find manual leather seats. Fitting electric is a faff and you don't get a smooth operation or memory unless you went to extreme extreme extreme lengths. Best bet in my opinion is to have your current interior with heated seats retrimmed in whatever you want. A few companies offer this. Seat surgeons have good feedback on here. Captain Nick Medhurst would ask:
"What is the first rule when overlanding?"
I would Reply:

I had no problems fitting electric seats in relation to smooth movement, 8 way movement and electric lumbar support is life changing I can't comment on how cost compare between re-upholster with leather in comparison with fitting leather electric seats, but then you don't have more movement in the seats.

Jamesbond007 had it done in Portugal for 1500euro. 5 seats and it looks better then the original LR leather.
Hard to compare labour rate in Portugal and UK though. CLUB ILLEGAL CAR WASHERS

hi,
i was quoted £895+vat by Seat Surgeons in York for all 7 seats and they reckon, it only takes 4 hours to do! I'm just trying to find an excuse to give SWMBO for me drive to York to get it done!
I also tried Seat Surgeons South(not same company)as they are more local, but they want £1250+vat and 1 1/2 days to fit
Bit confused really as they both claim good quality leather but NOT nappa thats another £300-£500 on top of both prices.
