I want to remove the carpet section of the lower tailgate so that I can drill it to fit some press-stub popper bases which can then be attached my load liner, that way when you close the tailgate the liner won't fall down on the inside.
Is there and easy way to take this trim panel out?

Don't know whether that helps ?
I have seen another post somewhere which uses some butter knives to esxtract the trim, but can I find it ?????

Rik,
Cheers...I bow to your superior skills with the site search engine!
Looking at those threads I might just be able to drill a few holes in the carpeted board and put a 7 style popper base on with a rivet without need to actually remove the panel....doesn't look like I'd be drilling into the wiring harness or anything important.....

My load liner is large enough to cover the rear tailgate so just needs to be secured in place at the top to stop it falling down when the tailgate is shut....problem with having 2 Golden Retrievers in the back is that Velco will just get pulled off I suspect.
