Has anyone tried to get a manual 2.7 V6 D4 in Australia? You can get a base model 2.7L diesel in the UK in a manual, so i just assumed you could get one here, but have been to the dealer and they are saying you can;t do a manual special order like you could with the D3
help? cheers

Hi Lucas,
The D4 is not offered with a manual transmission in Australia. The overwhelming majority of D3s sold here were fitted with the excellent 6 speed box.
Modern auto boxes can often equal or sometimes even surpass the fuel economy of a manual fitted to the same type of vehicle and are generally superior off road. I used to be a 'manual only' person but have completely changed my mind after sampling modern auto boxes.
If LRA agree to your request to import a manaul D4 you might have a long wait. Our new RR Sport was ordered in January and should be arriving in May, a four month wait. I know of others who have waited much longer for vehicles fitted with particular colour, e-diff and options.
The auto D4 is an awesome performer and the Commandshift auot does give the driver a lot of control over the transmission. In my opinion a D$ auto is a better car than one fitted with a clutch pedal.
Regards,
Bunta
