I've been Dogged!

It all happened in a flash!
He came from nowhere and bit my flap off Shocked

It was all over in a flash & I was left scarred Evil or Very Mad

Its alarming just how tearable these mudflaps are - 1x sheepdog + 2 seconds = ripped off flap.

He didn't get the nearside one though Wink

What my demure little disco Laughing

Strange thing is that in a totally unrelated incident the following day, a Clio bit the nearside front flap & tore it a bit.

So I guess that'll be a full new set I need. & I guess it's gonna cost more than £10.

The mudflaps are very easy to damage. After a service my rear flap had a small crack appearing. I assume that it was at the time of service although I didn't notice it until 2 weeks later due to water restrictions and not being able to wash the old girl.

Thought about replacing the rears with conveyor belting as it is reinforced with fabric but the original is a complex shape.

Dogs wouldn't be able to rip it off in 2 seconds then...

The old girl is on her third engine...
* first ran a bearing (design failure in original engine)
* second had a failure of the water outlet on top of the engine (pls check yours)

Mud Flaps

Hi;
I've had mud flaps installed on a couple of vehicles. The best ones I think you use are a soft rubber version. Any possible mud flap you ever use, you will break or rip off the vehicle, it's the nature of them. I've torn repeatadly mud flaps from various vehicles.

Conclusion, when I ordered my new LR3 a year ago, I got it with no mud flaps, and guess what.... I've never ripped a mud flap off it. I assure you, that if I had them, they would have been torn, or broken if I had.

Suggestion, simply removed the mud flaps, you don't need them.

Cheers

t
