Have just moved back to Calgary and after 12 months of Porsche 911 and Audit Q7 I have come back to LR.
Picked up last week a V8 Nara Bronze LR4 HSE Lux with every option box (except factory RSE) ticked off. What a machine and what a great engine. Just waiting now for the dealer to get back to me with the dual screen Rosen rear entertainment system.
It seems like the North America HSE Lux gets a lot stuff standard. Only options were heavy duty pack and surround cameras.
Enjoying every minute of it! '10 LR4 Nara Bronze V8 HSE + everything

I would love to import an V8 to Europe... the eco-terrorists have restricted the market here. in some countries you are forced to take the partculate filter for the diesel, even if you dont want to

Congratulations, I have also just ordered a D4 although we only have the oil burner option!
I would be interested to know what you thought of the Q7? Current:
2014 RRS 3.0 HSE
Porsche 997 GT3
BMW 118d SE
Past:
D4 HSE 3.0 TDV6 Auto
D3 HSE 2.7 TDV6 Auto

I have a D4 V8 too. That's a monster engine!!!! 8)
Today I had a small "little competition" against a X5 and it was a joke.

My wife had a 3.0 tdi Q7. It was a quality vehicle with a great engine. Felt much more like a big car rather than a SUV. Used it in the snow a fair bit around Aberdeen at the end of last year and it was pretty good on winter tires. Wouldnt touch the LR4 off road but as an on road family car it was very comfortable. I'm amazed that you can change from 911 /Q7 to a D4. I wouldn't have anything else (except a D3 ) but the change must be amazing.

You can have a LHD V8 D4 in Greece according to the Tourist Import Price list. Not sure if they will sell one to anyone who isn't a Greek resident though and I can't imagine that there are many Greeks who could afford one at present (although what people are worth out there and what the taxman is led to beleive may be slightly different concepts!)

Yes, I have seen this in the list as well, I wonder how is this possible being in the same Union? Only Greece is allowed to "poison" our planet?

Pavol,
Have you asked if you could get a V8 for Slovakia? I'm pretty sure that any manufacturer is oblidged to offer any customer within the EU with any product that they also offer in any other member state.
I found that out when I tried to import a Swiss specification Porsche into CH. The computer said no - but only because CH is not in the EU - I could have had any other EU-member state specification.....
No idea what the price would be but Jag XF 5.0 Portfolio is circa 13% more than the 3.0 Diesel S version...

Mogul,
I might try to ask PA from the diplomatic/tourist sales but I am sceptic as I have asked for a non-DPF diesel and was told that anything going to Luxembourg (I am a Slovak living in Lux ) has to be according to the specifications in the destination country. And as they do not sell the petrol here...
But I have to ask indeed.
So long!

I was only back in the UK for 12 months and sold a LR3 in Calgary before i left. I didnt fancy a LR3 TDV6 in the UK so i got the q7. The 911 was used to drive to work on a great 50 mile round trip each day. Back in calgary i dont have a long drive to work so no point in having a 911. The other half wanted a people carrier so a V8 engined LR4 sounded like lots of fun. Oh and i ski a lot so it is good to know i can get out to the mountains what ever the weather.
I dont see the change as too extreme. I am a petrol head, the V8 LR4 excites me as much as the 911 just in a different way. '10 LR4 Nara Bronze V8 HSE + everything
