D4 Interiors (fabirc leather / leather |
|
Quite keen to get into a D4 before too long but agonising over the spec.
As much as I'd like an HSE specced up to the hilt, I wonder how hard wearing the premium leather would be?
I sat in one at the Geneva Motor Show yesterda and they had a nice D4 HSE Nara Bronze with Almond/Arabica Premium leather and it's all very nice but I wish you could have 100% Arabica and matching carpets!
I also looked at a Freelander which had the non-premium leather just to compare. The grain is rougher and presumably it might be a little harder wearing?
What do you see as the main benefits of premium leather other than the slightly softer touch?
Is anyone using child seats with their leather interiors and have you noticed any wear? I suppose you can get those foam pads so that the child seat does not rub against anything but I've not heard much about these.
Of course, you never see cloth seats at a motor show, or in any/many dealers.
I'm buying a family hack here and would keep it 5 years or so so I although my heart says leather, I could probably live with cloth...
Cheers

Leather is generally easier to clean off vomit/food/sweets/icecream/mud etc etc than Cloth.
I have leather, three kids, plenty of camping and mud and it all comes up like new
Just get some leather cleaner and treat it once in a while and it'll be fine.
Car seats also don't seem to have left any lasting damage (3 years of hard use) Bodsys Brake Bible

You could always have Leather Retro fitted (I did), if budget is tight. it cost me £1000 for seven seats which I think is a bargain.

£1k for retro fit leather sounds a great price if you're happy with the work.
I've also spotted what appear to be waterproof-looking full seat covers on a Disco 3 in a car park out here recently. Are these an OEM accessory or would they be aftermarket?

I am delighted with my Leather - I would actually say is better than OEM, as its all leather not just the facings.
Bodsy and a few others have seen it and they can vouch for the quality 15 3.0 RRS HSE - Silver
