Mine's Broke. Is yours?
I removed my battery cover today and found this cable holder type thingy damaged Obviously looks like it should be fixed to the nut and bolt above. It must of been broken and forced backwards when the battery was installed at the factory. Although to me it looks like there is no room for it to be where it should be when the battery is in situ.
Please could somebody have a look at their car and see if it's where it should be.
Many thanks

Just checked another D4 and the holder is in place on the nut but it was quite bowed and looked like it would break with any force. Basically a very bad design

Please, please can somebody else have a quick look under their battery cover to see if theirs is broken, its only takes a moment. I'm just trying to build a case to get mine changed under warranty. I have been told its a 10-12 hour job to change

Doesn't matter how long it takes, if it was broken during manufacture it should be fixed under warranty. Getting a battery into a D3 is a tight fit I should imaging same for a facelifted D3 (some call it a D4). Obviously more peeps have this problem the less LR can wriggle & say "You must have broken it".
PS does that fixing being broken result in the battery box not being secured properly??
If you look at Fishy's he's also got tape wraped around it, just not as much - looks like they used the tape to keep the wires in place in the middle of the holder.
But I agree, Fishy, you need to insist they repair at their cost - I mean, you wouldn't have removed the battery yourself anyway would you

They started adding extra tape there on D4s as CAN wires were getting trapped under the nut.

Just checked mine. It's intact and is wrapped in insulating tape. Gave it a good shove and it does not appear to be cracked or broken.

Many thanks for checking chaps
As you said Mr H I haven't had any cause to remove the battery. I will get it to the dealer asap.
Thanks again
DSL the fixing being broken doesn't affect the battery box it appears to just hold the wiring harness.
