I noticed that the fuel door on my LR3 does not have a lock like my D1s have. I work at a college with lots of mischievous kids, and had always appreciated that feature. I've contacted my dealer and been informed that Land Rover does not make a locking fuel cap. This seems like an oversight, but maybe they can be had from Land Rover UK or other countries. Anyone here aware of an OEM or aftermarket locking fuel/gas cap that works well with an LR3/D3?

Doesn't the outside flap lock with the central locking?
Mine does.

At work we get LR2s (Freelander 2) in which don't have locking fuel caps. We order Rest Of the World spec fuel flaps which come with the locking mechanism. Could be the same case with LR3 (Disco 3).

I will double check, but it appeared to open with the doors locked.
Not so worried about someone siphoning my gas (at least not until gas goes back up to $4/gal), but working on a college campus with lots of liberal/green/hippie type kids I would feel better knowing no one had easy access to my fuel system.
Why the US didn't get a locking system is beyond me.
Anyone have a parts catalog or do they sell Rave-style DVDs with all of the workshop and parts manuals like they do for the older Discos. Wondering how much effort is involved in retrofitting the central locking system versus a generic locking gas cap.

I think you will find that it will not open when the doors are locked, mine certainly does NOT open when the car is locked

Will do! I have a friend who is a mechanic at a local dealer. He should know if they can do it in case the service manager doesn't want to bother.
