Fitting Hella HID Spots

I've changed the OEM PIAA spots to Hella HIDs today.

1st Grille out - unclip the 4 top clips then grab the whole grille ( i.e. silver and blue bits) at the bottom and firmly pull forwards to realease the two clips.

Deffo needs an A bar, they look too fragile on their own!

Only this week I rang TLO and cancelled the A-Bar order, because I'm not convinced of it on the D4 - I will wait until I see one in the flesh.

I dare say that'll change in time, but if/when I go for the A-Bar, I'll also want lamp-guards and a winch, which means a new Winch version Mantec as well Confused

Erm, no that ain't going to happen, unless I win the lottery - the D4 will get the winch from the D3 at some point in the future - probably just before the D3 get's sold.

For all you vulchers out there, don't get you're hopes up it isn't going to happen for at least 5 years Laughing

Those spots look well good finishes of the vehicle Shocked

I am a great believer in any driver owning a 4x4 they always need to have spots on them to look the part.

Thats my personal views Mr. Green

How did you wire these ones up block connector straight forward or splicing wires involved?

Also do they go on when you flash your headlights ? Neutral

I bought two plugs the same as those on the LR OEM lamps and fitted those to the cables that feed the Ballasts - Shimples Laughing

Yes, if the dash switch for the Auxiliary lights is ON, then they flash with the highbeam, but as, I tend to only switch them on as and when needed.

As all gas discharge lamps, they take a few seconds to attain full power/brightness - However, as a little oik in his sup'd up Corsa coming towards me last night found out, when they do come on, it's fookin' impressive!!

He not only went straight to dipped beam, but pull to one side and as I passed he was sat there rubbing his eyes - well I did flash 2 or 3 times without the HIDs on first, so he had warning Rolling with laughter
