recently had the 15,000 mile service done. As suggested by fellow D3 member asked them to match a realistic price (which still allowed them a profit). They did, did the job, offered a small car FOC for service time. Car returned clean and serviced. However they didn't understand/take on board my concern over turbo lag and documented GTR how to sort out. Sent e-mail, wrote a letter and finally after 10 days no reply to me, were phoned to ask to reply and then they offered to correctly upgrade the software.
They are a friendly centre, are my local/nearest LR dealer but don't always listen to and act on customer comments. Their service response to a letter/e-mail could best be described as average to poor. Anyone else had experience of them or am I being unreasonable to expect a better service for a 40K car!

Mine went in 2 weeks ago for suspension fault, low coolant, heating upgrade, squeaky drivers seat & asked them to check gas strut bolts!
All done, but bolt still loose on tail gate (toke it back & done as I weighted!)
Seat now squeaks again (this is the second time they have had a go at this!) Mentioned about edges of tyres wearing, said yes it was checked when it was last in! I wander!
Had a new compressor fitted which dose seem a lot noisier!

Stratstone Wooburn Green, hmmmn, DEFINATELY DON'T USE THEM,(sorry to shout, but its necessary) once they've had your money, they couldn't give a stuff, and I wouldn't be the only one to say that the words 'Stratstone' and 'Good' should never appear in the same sentence.I would recommend that until they can demonstrate that their customers are important to them, that everyone should stay well clear.Maybe without any customers to take up their valuable time, they can get on with whatever it is that is more important.

Just a note on these guys, generally get a reasonable service from them, in as much as one of the sales manager's picks up my car and returns it everytime it needs to go in, but that could be as he is a couple of miles from me and drives a G4 110, and I nearly always get a demo Defender as a courtesy car for the day (Jeremy loves them so that is what he always takes home).
Last week it went in for it's MOT, all fine and when Jeremy picked it up from home he left me with a TDV8 FFRR Vogue for the morning - very nice!
I think it helps that I am on first name terms with the Service Manager and one of his team, and have the email address of the DP if I have any issues..... - and one of their techies has a Camel Trophy Discovery as well! Craig

never had a good experience with them during my time with D2 or with D3 - will do anything to utilise other dealers rather than benefit from their location

My D3 has gone in to Stratstone Wooburn Green for around £3000 worth of work, including replacing the EPB unit. Its been in since 18 Novemeber 2009 "waiting" for the part from Landrover. I phoned the landrover customer care line and they indicated that the part was delivered on the 14 December. So no car and no indication on when I can have it back.

I have to agree with the other posters about Stratstone Wooburn Green (or Stratstone Burnham as they are after the move).
Mine went in at 8am with an SRS light, rear boot switch fault and a routine 45K service.
I stated that the most important thing was the SRS light - and nothing else should be started until it was fixed (as I was taking the family on a long journey the next day and wanted the airbags working).
Also the boot has a black badge on it so I asked them that if they replaced the switch, they should transfer the outside shell (it just clips on) to keep the black badge.
Came back at 5:45pm as requested, to be told all fixed, SRS is due to faulty connection under seat and service was going to cost £575 (normal price approx £350).
Obviously, as soon as I get in the car, the SRS light is still on, and the boot now has a green badge on it.
One of the service team then look at it and say that it's 6pm so they're going home and it needs to be looked at another day - and the outside shell for the back has been thrown away.
Suffice to say - when LR sent me an online survey I wasn't complimentary - and instead I've been back to Lancaster Reading.
PS: Lancaster fixed the SRS fault in 1 hour - turned out to be a software bug that needed a reload. No problem with connectors etc.
I've had the same experience last time when I turned up to have the P17 recall done after phoning them to check that they had the parts, only to be told when I arrived with the car that in fact they didn't have the part.
My advice - do not use them. Lancaster Reading may be further away - but they've always fixed everything first time and actually seem to care about Land Rovers (and recognise the disco3 stickers!) Rob aka gringle

In reference to my earlier post, many of the staff I dealt with have gone down to Lookers Park Royal, as has my loyalty (for now) Craig

Sorry to hijack a Discovery owners forum, but I'm so frustrated by Stratstone Land Rover in Burnham (now) I feel the need to share:
Since the move from Wooburn Green to be co-located in Slough with Stratstone Jaguar the quality of service at Stratstone Land Rover has plummeted.
Stratstone Land Rover have arrogant staff (which, based on our experience, comes from the top). Stratstone Land Rover don't return calls when they promise to do so. And Stratstone Land Rover lie to you about finance/warranty packages.
When we bought our new Land Rover Range Rover in 2007, the business management area of Stratstone Land Rover attempted to scare us into buying a finance package. More recently Stratstone Land Rover have made false (negative) claims about approved Land Rover extended warranties while trying to sell their own product (e.g. "more than twice the price").
On the servicing side, apart from the inability to return calls when they promise to do so, Stratstone Land Rover also damaged the car while it was with them. On collection, they promised to sort it - but then didn't call. After numerous attempts to resolve this ("I'll look into it and call you back" - no call...), we had to escalate all the way to the Dealer Principal of Stratstone Land Rover, he then tried to imply we'd done it ourselves...nice.
Land Rover products are obviously selling themselves because the sales staff at Stratstone Land Rover seem to have no interest in doing so. Despite the service from Stratstone Land Rover, we love the products and were at one stage interested in buying a Land Rover Defender. Stratstone Land Rover sales staff couldn't have been more disengaged. "Since the snow, everyone wants a 4x4" - how short-sighted.

As per my previous post, most of the LR service technicians have now gone to Lookers Park Royal, along with some of their sales staff (Site Sponsor by the way) and they were not too complementary on arrangments in Slough after the move from Wooburn.
LPR are not far from you (about 10 miles down the A40?), ask for James (Sales Manager) and tell them the forum recommended them. Craig

thanks Craig - the other dealer in the area that seems to get decent reviews is Lancaster in Reading - a bit more of a journey but I've heard good things - thanks for the tip on Park Royal - it's on my way in to work too...
